SOLD! - 1950 Fender Champion 600 TV Front Two Tone Champ
This beautiful 1950 Fender Champion 600 is a unique character piece and dreamy vintage amp and these have been on the rise for at least 10 years now.
It's the one little amp your wife will actually love to have in the living room instead of that 200W Marshall Black Flag full stack that you love to power up... The sound of these Champion amps is just amazing. Rich, warm clean sparkly tones around 6-8 on the dial. Cranked all the way (yes, this one goes up to to 12!!... ) with a Les Paul plugged this baby almost sounds like a gated fuzz - it's wild with a totally unique tone. Wonderful for recording or playing at home!
The tubes consist of 1 x old stock 6SJ7, 1 x old stock 6V6GT and 1 x recent 5Y3GT/5U4M TAD rectifier tube. The original 6" Cleveland speaker dates to week 22, 1950 date stamped on the chassis (433022) and the serial number of the amplifier is 1900 which also dates to 1950.
This sweet little baby has seen a few necessary upgrades along the way but it still is pretty original. The paper Mighty Midget capacitors have obviously been replaced but the paper covers have been transferred to the new capacitors to keep the vintage look and feel. The tube sockets have also been replaced but the originals are included.
The output transformer and TRIAD 6500 Power Transformer are original as well as the ON/OFF volume potentiometer, jack inputs, chickenhead knob, pilot light, most electronics and chassis which was built and signed by "Lupe" and even the leather handle is original, however crackled and dried out.
