1957 Fender Telecaster Whiteguard

Here's another dream guitar for you, straight from the amazing collection of one of our customers!
 
This 3.35Kg lightweight March 1957 Fender "Whiteguard" Telecaster just oozes vibe and mojo and has that killer 50's Telecaster sound that only a real vintage 50's Tele can give you.
 
It has a stunning 3-57 ash body that has aged just perfectly with a lot of wear front and back and some caselid damage and arm wear on the top. The 4-57 neck is a perfect handful with a transitional V-shape becoming more soft in the middle and round near the body. It is straight as an arrow and plays smooth and effortlessly. Acoustically this Tele sounds big and rich and it has a lot of sustain. Chords and single notes are rich and you can hear the wood resonate. When plugged, the original staggered polepiece bridge pickup is powerful and has a lot of push and Tele twang. It's snappy, cuts through the mix easy and runs from country to rock. The original neck pickup sounds clear and warm and the original Tele electronics, pots and circuit finish this guitar to be as complete and original as you want it to be.
 
So what was changed and done to this guitar? At some point a bigger jack plate was installed but the plate was removed and an original 50's jack cup is put in place. The original whiteguard pickguard was painted black to make it look like a blackguard but several years back the black paint was removed and the original white guard looks pretty cool. Two screws on the pickguard seem to be different. Thats is ladies and gentlemen! Everything else is original to this guitar and the nitro finish on the body, neck and headstock glows under UV blacklight as it should. No repairs, no routings, no hidden problems. 
 
The original frets have quite some wear but as they are original and the guitar still plays fine with no buzz we left it as is. Unon request we can deliver the guitar with a fresh refret and setup! 
 
This beauty comes in a later Fender rectangular tweed case with red plush lining.
