SOLD! - 1987 Gibson ES-347-S "Special Order" Walnut Flame Maple

Very nice and clean example of the relatively rare Gibson ES-347. This particular guitar is an ES-347 S which means an original Gibson "Special Order" (ES 347 S designation on the label inside the f-hole) which has the same body as the ES-335 but with nicer figuring on the maple, Walnut finish, Gibson factory coil tap and TP-6 tuning tailpiece!

ES-347 S Special Order Walnut versions are extremely rare: I have only ever seen another 1 like this !!

Made in low numbers from 1978 through to 1993, the ES-347 can be seen as a very versatile replacement to the ES-335, ES-345 and ES-355 with a few extra features mixed from all ES models. It features the classic ES set up, a flamey 3-piece maple neck with a beautiful figured maple body complete with center block, and it is fitted with the higher end 355 ebony fret board with Mother Of Pearl block inlays and multi bound crown custom headstock and gold Grover tuning pegs. The 347 also has a factory special order factory coil tap switch which gives the player an additional choice of some funky singlecoil sounds.

All the hardware is in gold and the guitar is factory fitted with the fine tuning TP-6 tailpiece but you could fit a regular gold tailpiece if preferred. The original frets are still in excellent condition and will last another lifetime. Weighs 4.1Kg which is pretty nice for this type of guitar.

Comes with its original Gibson hardshell case with pink plush lining and shroud.
